"I chose the name Sandstone because sandstone is shaped by chaos, weather, and time — and it still becomes something beautiful and strong. I believe people are the same way, and helping others build that kind of foundation is why I love what I do."
About Angela
When Angela Rodgers was a teenager, a counselor helped her get through one of the harder chapters of her life. By the time she graduated high school, her mind was made up. She was going to do that for someone else someday.
That was over 25 years ago. She hasn't looked back once.
Angela works with adults, adolescents, and children facing a wide range of challenges — anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, grief and loss, ADHD, emotional and behavioral concerns, oppositional behaviors, physical and sexual abuse, divorce, life transitions, and relationship issues. She also provides LGBTQ+ affirming care and works with adults on parenting development. That range of specialties isn't accidental. Over the course of her career, Angela has worked in private practices, community agencies, and a residential treatment center, and she's drawn from every one of those experiences ever since.
Her approach blends cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and person-centered counseling — which in plain terms means she meets clients where they are and walks with them from there. Sessions with Angela tend to feel less like appointments and more like conversations. Expect warmth, expect honesty, and there's a reasonable chance humor and coffee will make an appearance somewhere along the way.
In 2025, Angela founded Sandstone Counseling in Green, Ohio — and the name was deliberate. Sandstone is a rock shaped by chaos, weather, and time, and it still ends up something solid and beautiful. That's the kind of transformation she believes is possible for every client who walks through the door. She built Sandstone around that idea, creating a practice grounded in ethical care where clients feel genuinely supported and counselors aren't ground down by the pressures that too often define community agency work.
Angela also serves as clinical supervisor to four associate-level counselors, and she'll tell you that mentoring newer clinicians is one of the most rewarding things she does. Watching someone find their footing as a therapist, she says, never gets old.
When she's not at the office, Angela is probably in the kitchen. She grew up in an Italian family where Sunday dinners were serious business, and she still makes her sauce, meatballs, and pasta the right way — from scratch. She's also a devoted animal rescue advocate and happiest when she's surrounded by her pets and her family.
If you're ready to take that first step, Angela would love to hear from you. Reach out today to schedule a consultation at Sandstone Counseling in Green, Ohio.
