Madeline Fechheimer, LPC
Madeline Fechheimer:
"I don't believe therapy should be one-size-fits-all. I'd rather figure out what works for you than try to fit you into a particular model."
About Madeline
Madeline Fechheimer believes therapy should be shaped around the person, or couple, sitting in front of her. She works mostly with adults at Sandstone Counseling in Green, Ohio, and has a real passion for helping couples who feel disconnected, keep having the same arguments, or aren't sure how to find their way back to each other.
Her areas of focus include couples and relationship counseling, trauma therapy, grief counseling, ADHD therapy, and support for autistic adults.
Madeline's approach is grounded in person-centered therapy, which means the work follows your goals, your pace and your experience. From there she draws on different theories and methods depending on what will actually help. She cares more about figuring out what works for you than about fitting you into a single model.
Madeline calls herself a direct therapist. You can count on her to be honest, to ask the hard questions and to gently push back on patterns that keep you stuck. She does all of that with warmth and respect. In her sessions you can just be yourself. You don't have to perform, have all the answers or pretend everything is okay.
Couples Counseling
Madeline doesn't take sides or decide who's right. She works with both partners to understand what's going on underneath the conflict. That includes communication, expectations, trust, attachment, boundaries, and the ways each person's history shows up in the relationship. She also believes couples counseling doesn't have to wait for a crisis. It can help partners communicate better, get through a major life transition, rebuild trust, or give a healthy relationship some well-earned attention.
